    HI!
    I' m begging with printing DI 46/4 and i have a couple o f question about it.

What are the most troublesome in printing from Heidelberg QM DI PLUS 46/4?
What are the indicative prices of repairs? Prints on sheet 170g chalk full of print, 15000 pieces of SRA3, 4 +4. How long will it print ?

Flood coverage will give you some trouble. If you have large solid black areas, I'd recommend making them a build out of all four colors.
I maintained a service contact for mine, which is quite costly, but over the course of the four years I operated mine, the repair costs were certainly higher than the amounts I paid for the service contract. From what I remember, the laser modules and the computer boards were the most expensive parts to replace...next to the drive motor.

Depending on how many times you use the plate cleaners, your plates should last between 10,000 and 25,000 impressions. If you use the plate cleaners with heavy coverage on the plates, they are more prone to scratch. You will be better off to stop the press and clean the plates by hand.

    Cheers,

    Tracy

I have just taken over a print shop that has a DI. This is the first DI I have been around (been around old offset all of my life). This press has some problems with color match. Is there anything you or someone can tell me about it? I think the problem has something to do with the rip or how the files are made.

Read your rip manual about calibration...it is all about printing curves.

Never seen this message before but looks to me like a power supply problem. Did you try to image one unit at once to see if it's a unit dependend problem.

is it possible to either install drivers on a windows NT server 4.0 OS or replace the cpu with one which has windows Xp OS to use on my rip PC for the Quickmaster DI Plus.

If your old rip (windows NT 4.0) already has an intel cpu you can install rip on another computer wich has windows XP installed. But standerd windows NT 4.0 was installed on a DEC Alpha platform wich has a non-Intel cpu and therefore dongle of the rip software can not be interchanged.

Concerning your image error on station 4. Because it is station related you have the oppertunity to switch cables/boards. By the way did you have checked fuses, the error warning looks to me it's power related.

It could be Power board in the unit 4.
Check Info button in the "S" screen, look for the "true" lines.

it is either the power supply, laser driver mod, power drive board or possibly a logic board.. I will send you an email with instructions on how to diagnose the problem...

Regarding your error message, are all your safeties off (to inch the machine) and safety gates closed?
