Problem with lines appearing on a GTO 52 DDS machine

I use a GTO52 DDS printer and I'm having trouble with excessive lines appearing in printouts when using high-color ink cartridges. I've tried different types of printing blankets, but the problem sometimes persists. I don't know which type of printing blanket produces fewer lines, even though I've replaced the printer's ink and water rollers. Are there any specific reasons for this problem? And which of these three types of blankets is the best?

May I suggest that you do some testing to determine whether these lines you mention are caused by the dampening unit or from print pressures? Maybe run a dry, breakaway solid to see if the lines are there while printing without damps engaged.

    Could you please explain further?

Print sheets without using the dampening to see if the streaks are caused by dampener, or a problem with inking unit. If same streak is visible without dampening, then the problem may be caused by inking roller train, not dampening rollers.

I did that, and the print appeared without the humidification feature, and the problem persisted. Is it possible that the problem lies with the printing blankets? Because the ink units are working properly.

I can't open the images, so I'm not clear on what your issue looks like. How many printing units, is problem on all units? Have you checked packing behind blankets of affected units? With a packing gauge?

The images have been edited. They are now working normally.

  • Wow, the back of those blankets are filthy!
Makes me wonder about care & attention to other basic fundamentals.
The better term for your lines is "Streaks".
The pressure setting of the ink form rollers to the plate via a visual "stripe" method should be checked.
How old are the ink form rollers and what is their hardness (durometer)?
As mentioned, is your packing pressure between plate and blanket correct?
Pleases show photo of single black by itself without yellow.
