Sirs
I printed a3 size Bristol on sormz 1 colour
And it was a simple 1 colour job and my
Operator wasted 75 sheets in registration
It was a work n turn ( actual size was a5)
But we mounted it to print on a3
Total job was 150 sheets of a3 work n turn
Can any one explain if this is normal wastage
Or it’s operator mistake
Pls help

  • No sir 7/8 years , it was the operator mistake
Maybe the side lay was not pulling well, he should
Have set it with impression off
    That’s why
    Usually it’s 10/15 sheet ok

Don't think I'm rude but if you're in business for 8 years, you know your operator and you know that he should use 10/15 sheets, why you're asking us if it's normal if he used 75?:)

And, is it really such a big loss to exaggerate?

Sir I’m in Africa , not a offset operator but I use this
Forum for help , here not many good operators
They are not experienced, they like to shift blame
On the plate maker etc , so just I knew the wastage
Was too much, because they don’t to lose thier job
    They like to shift blame
    Thanks

Ok, so o what do you expect from this forum? How can we help you in this situation?

  • Hi sir perhaps it s not a technical problem so i can say that he has to do his best to improve, it's true that you have to decide but if he has good behavior and he's a good person, you have to invest in him, continue training and give him a little time

It all depends on your quality standards. If your company insists that the press operator not begin counting sheets until all color bars across the sheet are within 5 densitometer points of each other, then more waste will be required. If your companies quality standards are just get pleasing color then 75 sheets sounds about right. If your a hang um and bang um type of shop than 75 may be too much even for a beginner. Bear in mind that Ive yet to work for a printer than didn't describe themselves as quality oriented, but yet Ive seen lots of real junk being shipped out the door. The way that I as a press operator used to determine a companies TRUE quality standards was to take notice of the products I was supplied with to print on. If I was regularly provided with bottom of the barrel job lot paper, and cheap consumables, then it was pretty obvious to me that the company was a "shithouse" printing company!!! As they say..." garbage in equals garbage out"
