i hit a HUGE mess of quick turn work, ive been running it with my patented "light blocking tent" with a fan again LOL. I wasnt in the mood for the month long "we're too cheap to actually fix this" dance from Xerox, while they tried the same things that havent worked before. :) think Ill call them today. Im grumpy.

    Tech's on his way in.

    Follow-up Edit:

Spotted a freon leak, so they're hoping it is just needing a plug-up and a refill. Should be getting parts and AC service in tomorrow AM. Just hoping the constant cycling of the compressor isn't damaging itself.

May leave the machine off and let the EU drain into a bucket overnight once/if the day's prints finish up.

    Solved! So far...

Had a coolant leak at the fan controller's pressure line. New controller, new refrigerant, so far, so good.

Had a bit of hiccup after the new controller and refrigerant was installed. Cooling fault came back. Turned out there's a set of coils in the EU above the ozone filters that can ice over and cause some problems. Tech had to change the hot-gas bypass settings to 40 millivolts as opposed to 33. Since millivolts translate directly to degrees in this case, the Xerox spec is to keep the coils one degree above freezing. Hotline says that's stupid, set it to 40.

    I love engineering.

hey guys. Ive been runnin with my "wind tunnel" fix for 2 months now. The Igen has been almost flawless. only a few usual errors. But Ive been putting the WORST stuff through it. labels, OLD cover stock, perfed paper, you name it. been so busy, Ididnt want to compound it with down time.I FINALLY called my tech, because my Freeflow went black, had a drive errror. and noticed I had no supplies. :( anyways, she came in with my EX-tech, who now works for us.... it lost all its freon again .i BELIEVE the final answer now is a whole new EU. :/

    NEW EU is in!

    looks expensive :)

waiting on xerox tech to come in and fire it up-the road crew only hangs it.

    watch it not work lol

    the plot thickens.

first: tech failed to flip breaker on, we chased the 13-5010 like a missing cond filter. that one made me laugh....

now fan on top doesnt turn. :)

ive waited a year. i can wait another day lol

as of today, the story has reached its finale.

I have an AC unit again.

The fan was phased incorrectly. which is part of an install I guess, and that step was not done on this EU.

No more cardboard hangin off the front!

    why?

its an entire BRAND NEW EU man! they just had no clue what was going on. :) Year-long funny story about blowing a fan into the cavity, and covering it with cardboard to shield it from the light...because the EU died.

that is now over with, thankfully.

    love your enthusiasm.

Ran it with the cardboard and fan for a bit.... and it showed a bunch of reds on the temp monitor. but then I left it til after the New Year(because I KNEW id never get service) flipped her back on and it worked SO FAR! BUT. the back is still open. Honestly, haven't bothered to mess with it. the confidence that it would get solved, just isnt there. :)

still working though. not asking any questions. Igen is doing well, in spite of its A/C problems. :)

OK. even on the new EU, just had a water collection system fault this morning. cant help but imagine its related.

I shut down the power, went to check it out, pulled the hose(which was empty) off of the angle fitting and water came GUSHING. put hose back into pump, but it wasnt on so water everywhere. lol drained into bucket i keep back there for this exact occasion.

remember new EU so not clogged.... put hose back on, powered back up and, removed valve, NOW theres a gurgling sound, and appears to be LIGHT vaccuum from the hose? think dentist suction gun when you bite down on it. LOL. i dont remember either of those conditions before

am I wrong? why was the hose empty, but water stuck above it? anyone else have that?

    thanks!
