Can anyone recommend any good pre press (pre-flight) software? In the past we've checked each upload from our clients before going to print, however we need something more automated that can handle batch jobs also. The majority of our uploads are pdf so it'd need to support this format before anything else.

If it can integrate into php then that's a bonus too!

    Thanks guys

What are you trying to catch?
Have you looked into PitStop Server since most of your files are pdf?

Flightcheck is a good suggestion. It can handle a wide range of file formats unlike other applications.

    Hi Printing365,

Not sure if you've found your solution but thought I'd comment on your post. It looks like you want something which you can integrate either via web-services or a hotfolder. You mention your customers "upload" files. Are they using a web portal to upload files or FTP'ing files? Are you looking to perform a general preflight on all files or specific preflights per workflow path (e.g. 4C 8.5x11 with bleed). This info will help with suggestions along with if you want to only preflight or if you want to preflight and automatically fix?

Check out Enfocus PitStop Server for automated PDF pre-flighting and file correction. And PitStop Connect (this is 50% off this month) to enable your clients an easy way to preflight, fix (to your print specifications), compress and transmit their files to your FTP site, with pre-flight reports. This solutions can also be used compress and send InDesign and Xpress package files and other application file types. A single license can be used by an unlimited number of your clients.

For pre-press software, I usually use Prinect Signa Station, Kodak Preps, or Imposition Studio.
