Polar 92ED with red plasma display - Problem

Hello everyone,

we have a Polar 92ED from 1996 with a red plasma display.

The display is slowly but surely breaking down and no longer looks good at all.

It has some black stripes and it looks as if the text has burned into it.

Now to my question:

Is it possible to replace/repair this display?
Unfortunately, I can only find very expensive and equally old replacement displays (with the entire unit, etc.) online.

Would it also be possible to convert the display to a newer color display?
If so, what parts would be needed for this?
Would it be an easy change?

Has anyone had a similar experience and found a solution?

Best regards!

Hello
Yes, it is possible to replace it with LED or TFT LCD panel. Where are you located in Germany?
