Hi, I'm an electronic technician. I have a problem with the display of a Polar 78 ES cutter. It didn't light up and I decided to change it thinking it was backlighting. But with the new the problem remained. I think it is unfortunately a problem of CCFL DC-AC inverter (ERG PS-1517). I can't find an equivalent but they told me the PS-E1517F model was produced. Anyone know where I can find this component? Thanks everyone in advance.

Hi,
I have this part in my stock and can send it for you from Denmark. But are you sure the LCD is fine? Usually you should be able to see some image or text on the panel even if the back light is broken. Try and use a torch (flash light) against the LCD panel in different angles and check if there is something. You can power up the panel on your bench. It's more convenient to check. You should here "beep" as a reset once the power is turned ON

Good luck

  • Hello, the display can be seen well both the old and the new that I changed against the light with an external light source. The problem lies only in the backlight not turning on on both the new and the old. Let me know. Thanks.

    Ok, understood.
I will be in my workshop Monday and send you a photo from the part.

    Hi sir;

    Hope you are well.

I strongly recommend you to Measure first the power supply , in order to before exchange Display

    1) +24Vdc in tolerance 0.7% up or down

    2) +5vdc for Display too 0.7% up or down.

    3) +12Vdc in tolerance up or down.

    4) backlight 375 Vca.!!!! carefully. in order if you have Voltage for the LCD backlight, otherwise, you have problem with the power supply ( inverter)

Looking for some, dirty, loose, flat or ribbon cables, corroded, and clean very well!

    Hi
In display back light is trun by one invertor(othe pcb) near to the display.
You can get the invertor from the vendor you got the display and can be trun on by giving +24 v supply.
I mean to say you give the tube light supply from separate invertor will be cheap and easy solution

    Please proceed with my steps

    Blessings.

Hi, I wanted to inform you about the solution of the problem. I changed the component in question, the backlight works! Many thanks to Mehdi from Press Trading Denmark for your prompt cooperation.

I also carried out these checks. Thanks!

  • Hi, I have exactly the same problem, do you know where to order this part: CCFL DC-AC inverter (ERG PS-1517) Or how to power the screen backlight lamp with which separate power supply?
    Thanks

Hi you need High voltage DC, you must construct one, however you must have skill in electronic background for to do this.

Or contact you electronic repair TV, they have special tool like test for backlight.
