    Hello,
We have a problem on our polar 115ED cutter and wish you can assist to proffer a solution. When we program a set of cuts on automatic and we initiate a cut to start operation, only the first cut is made and the other cuts are not carried out. The knife returns back up after the cut but backguage does not move to next position for next cut to take place. Machine cuts and backguage moves fine on manual operation. There is no error displayed. Thanks forb an anticipated response.

    Hi wunmi!

If the cut is normal finished (knife and clamp (!!!) are in its upper position) you have two possibilities.

After the cut the backgauge does not start, if the switch S390 (upper and rear switch at the foot pedal) is not correct adjusted. This would be the same situation like somebody is permanently activating the foot pedal. Often the black plastic cam is worn. Check as well the return spring for the foot pedal.

The second possibility is a broken switch B29 (clamp in upper position). Before you check B29 go to the menu “machine parameters” and set the function “optimization of clamp” (maybe on the second page) to number 2!

    Good luck

    Hi Coloured Paper,

Immensely grateful for all your technical assistance and in particular on this one. I am pleased to inform you that based on your inputs, the problem above was caused by wrong positioning of switch S390 obviously from mechanical job carried out on the foot pedal mechanism while trying to solve the problem of drag in clamp movement downwards(which still persists.)The automatic function is now restored and works fine after switch was properly positioned.
