Polar 115E and 78 _ cut circuit interrupted

Good day,

We have 2 polar mohr cutters which have the same fault i.e. cut circuit interrupted. Not sure where to start looking for this fault. The leds on SK95 board seem to register when cut buttons are pressed. Also the safety bolt micro switches also seems correct. I suspect some issue with the light beams. When i obstruct these although the red leds show an obstruction, no leds on SK95 register any change. If this is not the fault can someone please direct me in the write direction. Seems odd that both our guillotines are refleflcting the same fault within a week. Maybe our operator tried something....not sure.

Regarding the cutting function, this error signal indicates a dynamic (one-time,
sporadic) "disagreement" of software control and safety control channel of board
SK95. This malfunction can be caused by a defective SK95 board. It is quite
"normal" if this malfunction occurs sporadically

 

Please check all this point regarding your type of machine .
Press cut buttons for a longer time.
- Check SK 95- board, sensors and cabling of cutting cycle
- Check knife upstroke control, replace if necessary and connect it to +24Volt.
- Check light barrier
- Use auxiliary screens "Input/output control and knife gearbox control" to locate
the malfunction
- Check / replace SAP- board.
- With ED machines check inline relay to the control panel for stacklift (short
circuit)
- Check safety bolt; axial play, shatter of switches B. SBE + B. SBA, switching
cam
- With ED and XT machines KAP- board (24 V defective)
- With 78ES and 78XS replace Transformer TR1 (id. no. 250967)
- On POLAR 66 this may result from a short circuit in the table lighting or cutting-
line indicator.
- Safety bolt magnet (under load) has a short circuit.
- On 78 ES/ XS: Check transformer cabling.

in both cases check First the regulated power supply in tolerance, 0.7% up or down. otherwise, will NOT work the PCB boards

 

Thanks so much. All power supply voltages are within tolerance. I see on the SAP card LEDS, both OT1 and OT are showing as ON. As per my knowledge on startup only OT was supposed to be ON and OT1, UT and UT1 was supposed to be OFF. How can the knife control be showing the OT and OT1 as ON? Does this mean the Knife Upstroke controller is faulty. UTH is OFF on the SK95 card. Thanks

The LEDs pm: is not indicative that REGULATED power supply is Ok

 

Yes, thanks. Measured with DMM. If the power supplies are out of spec, is the only option to replace the PS card?

After about five years of operation, the contact groups of the cutting buttons are clogged with grated plastic, causing an arbitrary failure of the cut or an arbitrary stop of the cutting cycle. Disassemble both buttons and rinse thoroughly with clean alcohol and blow with compressed air. We disassembled the new buttons and carefully lubricated them with silicone grease before installation.
