Hi, I'm facing a problem when printing coated paper of 90-150 gsm. the problem is the paper doesn't drop correctly at feedboard after the transfer gripper release at the moment of registration. the problem is mostly at drive side and when printing sheets longer than 20". Sometimes a strip of PVC tape from top to bottom of the feedboard would help but not always.

check the transfer grippers pressure make sure they are all even.
you may have a spoon ( sheet hold down) to tight or a double sheet caliper too tight.
caliper setting: i always took a sheet of stock to be run and folded off center. then set caliper to allow the 1 sheet to go under with no drag , but stop hard when it gets to the next one. now make sure the ends of the sheets do not get caught in the little trough cut out for the side guide to ride in.
this could be static as well. tinsel on the spoons and wax the feed board like you would the paper cutter bed. a good paste wax is best. you may also have to adjust the swing gripper height at the feed board. this is done a few different ways depending on the year. it could be swinging back and kicking the sheet from the head stops. also check headstop height. this is done by the little bolt and set nut right next to the counter on the operators side. it is hooked to the headstop shaft. you see it as it runs, it only turns so far so do not force it, it can break.let me know if any of this helps.

Thanks for the help. All the settings are fine except the paper sticks to the board. The problem seems to be static and waxing would be good idea. Thanks

narayan: Have you tried tying some tinsel to the main cross bar on the feed table and let it run to the floor or in a bucket of water? Also re reading this a few times, have you checked the problem edge of the feed table for any "burrs" that might be causing the sheet to hang up? Marker had some good suggestions too about checking headstop height, but make sure you check to see if one side is the same - aka "level" with the other.

before decorating your christmas tree tape up some of the tinsel all around your feeder and feed table to make contact with the sheet as it travels down to the infeed. I like to terminate one end of the tinsel into an ink can filled with water to ground out any static charge that the tinsel picks up. Sounds hokey but it works!!!

    Hi.
If you are having problems with paper clinging to the feedboard, try spraying the feedboard with silicone spray then buffing it dry. if you cant get hold of silicone spray then try using furniature polish. hope this helps . regards johnyprint
