I am running this press and the oil light is on and the warning bell is ringing. I have replaced the oil filter at the delivery end ( filled new filter with oil before replacing it) and checked and cleaned the sump screen. I know oil is getting to the op side of press because I had the cover off working on an airline break and saw the oil.

I think but am not sure there are sensors at the backend of press under the infeed somewhere that may be causing this, but I am not sure. Mr.Heidelberg are you reading this or anyone else that may be able to steer me on this issue.

There is a switch under the feedboard against the OS side frame. I would remove the switch from the lube line and then run the press, activate the oil to the operator side and see if oil is coming out of the lube line. If it is than you have a bad switch. If it is not than you likely have an oil leak. More than likely its a bad switch, sometimes just cleaning the contacts inside the switch will work but I would just replace the switch.

  • Will try thanks a bunch for help, not too many people bit on this one.....appreciated.

Dial in on the switch that's communicating with the error. You might have to use the electrical diagram and locate the relay in your cabinet. If the relay is not lighting up once the oil reaches it than it is probably the switch. After locating the relay, take it out and inspect the connections. Sometimes, they will go bad if something shorted it out. Dust can do this just because of the conductors in the dust. If it is a proxemity switch than it could be as simple as a bent mounting bracket. Hope this helps.

Its not a proximity switch, its a mechanical contact activated by oil pressure. I dont even think prox switches existed on a Heidelberg when the 102VP was still in production.
