Offset printing is more cost-effective for large print runs, like magazines and newspapers.

Never say never! While offset presses will be around for a VERY long time, digital presses are getting bigger, better, and faster. They also offer the opportunity to print with variable data and hit a broader range of colors. They don't require plates, are instantly in register, use very few setup sheets, and offer a comparable cost per impression. The new Landa S11P press runs at 11,200 sph and can run duplex/perfecting as well. I'd imagine as large print shops invest in new presses, or replace older models, they will start considering presses like the Landa in the very near future. New shops will also likely go with digital as they have less of a learning curve than offset presses.

(And no, I don't sell equipment. I work in a print shop. However, I used to sell production presses for Konica Minolta. During my time there, we replaced several offset presses with digital presses in small to medium sized shops.)
