Hi everyone, I am starting out a small home business to print business cards/brochures. I have done a lot of freelance work previously (years ago) and sourced my print jobs to the printers. I am now starting to freelance again and looking for a printer that will print business cards on heavy card stock.

As it has been 5 years since I was in the business, not sure if it will pick up again and want a low cost solution for now. I was looking at the Xerox phaser 7500N which prints up to 100lb cover stock.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you so much!

i would say, very expensive to run, and for me a no brainer
why not just get a printer to print them up for you. easier, cheaper

Thanks for your reply. The local printer has made a deal with me to print 43 pages cover stock (24up 12x18=1000 cards) for $55 each run. This is quite expensive. The 7500N states it prints letter sized pages at 12cents per page at 5% coverage.

If you going to be running small runs of business cards then all you needs a low end digital printer. 7500N is ok but u can get better click rate with xerox printers.

A professional printer seems to be a good choice if you're not sure whether things will pick up again. This way you don't have to deal with reselling a printer that would do you no good.
