    Hello everyone,
    I have GTO 5 COLORS
    Machine , GTOF P 52
    NR. 699 712
I have a serious problem with these three MWE cards, the regulators LM 317 and LM 337 get very heat,
I checked the power supply, the voltage 18v ac from the transformer.
    Amperage 6.6 amp.
    4.9 v dc OK.
I checked all the flat cables.
    I replaced the regulators.
Every things seem good, but still heating, even I could smell the smoke.
So could you please help me.

    Hi,
To my experience, these regulators are getting hot in certain period. But what problem do you have on your machine?

I checked all of the components, and I found there was a short circuit in all of the 47 mf 35 v capacitors. So I replaced all of them and the problem of heating got solved. The ink motors work probably.
    But the registration motors don't.
I was working all night on this problem.
Thanx for your reply Mr Mathew.
I need some help for that.

Can you read the values of register motors on CPC? Is it on all units? What does it show on the two seven segments at top center once you switch on the desk? It usually shows a number for a short period.

Have you inspected the fuses located on the inside, upper back panel of the CPC console?

When I turn the cpc on it shows the number 7 and then after moment it turns out to be 33.
And it shows the position of the motor at recent time which means all of the unit have deferent reading.
I did inspect all of the fuses and they are OK.

Error 33 is the case. It means "REK 1 receives no status signal from certain ink fountain roller or register motors. Possibility of potentiometer short-circuits". Most probably REK1 does not function. Try to swap REK1 and REK2 and see if it helps. And also check NT85 Power Supply for +12VDC. Have look on it. There are 3 resistor wires beside together. Sometimes one of these wires is blown off and the module can not supply enough current to turn the motors. You can swap this module with one of +/-8VDC which are used for Ink Zone motors.

    Good luck
