Muller martini 1528 cover deck feeder

Can anyone tell me if this drive shaft has been rigged or it is from the factory. The belt/chord that runs under the V belt is getting chew up. I notice this moves around and think it could be the root of the problem. But, I do not see it in the parts book. It looks to me someone fix it with rubber tubing. Should it be solid?

Yes it’s original acts as a drive coupling for the belt.You should not have play there try changing the tubing.
