I was told by Man Roland tech that my press requires 16CFM per printing unit and my old 5horsepower compressor(16CFM) Can no longer keep up. Along with another 5 horsepower compressor running at the same time the air at press is about 4-4.5 bar. I have fixed all air leaks and hear nothing coming out of any pistons or air cylinders. All air solenoids are quiet. Do I need new compressor? and Should I buy something with double the CFM and horsepower?

    Thank you guys!

you need 9 bar air pressure to run the machine without any compressed air error. F005 is an air pressure switch installed on the machine to detect the minimum (5.5 bar) air pressure.

my compressors(both of them) build up to 150PSI, i then open the valve to the press and it turns into 90psi and the gauge at the press reads 4.5bar. Im probably drawing a bit more air because the machine is old and has small air leaks. Do you guys think a 7.5HP compressor will be sufficient? or should I go 10HP since i have to run 2 compressors at the moment?

Normally the R304 works with a 3KW Becker piston compressor (= 5KW chinese garbage). Depending on the air leaks in the machine, you may need to use a 25KW compressor. .....or more.

does anyone know how much actual CFM is required? that will help me choose the right compressor to order, im deciding between 7.5 and 10 HP screw compressors with 125-150psi.

Roland is a German machine. In Germany it is not measured in fingers, palms, feet, etc. There they measure in meters. Depending on the series of the machine and the number of PUs, it is between 330 and 950 l/m at 9-11 Bar
If you give me a Telegram number, I will send you all the documentation for the air supply.
