I have a MOV with a Alcolor system and every time the green production button is pressed and the damp units go on impression it looks like a roof without a gutter as the water (9 degrees C) pi€€es down and into the drip trays. Can anyone she'd some light on this problem? It's only the first 3 units, unit 4 is perfect.

Can you explain a bit more? Is it sort of overflowing pan or splashes of water?
May be roller settings or may be water level too high in the pans.

It is splashes of water. It happens even with the tap closed and the water on it's lowest level. When the impression goes on the pan roller speeds up for about 4 second and it looks like there is to much water on the chrome roller and is squeezed out and drips from the whole length of the roller. Form damper replaced with new. Pan to chrome pressure is almost on max and it's still doing it.

How you set your rollers? Did you checked strips between metering roller and form roller?

5 mm. What is the job of the matt oscillator under the form damper?

I think I have sorted it for now. Metering to Form damper line is now on 1.5 mm and working good. Just gonna do a test print now and see what happens.

1.5 is not enough, I have not operated MO but on Speedmaster presses, it should be between 6-8 mm.

Just did a test print of 200 sheets and it works perfect. 80% screen A2 on magenta with no scumming, water marks or dripping. That's with the 1.5 mm metering to form line.

Its fine if you have no issues but increase the strip if you face any issues in the long run.

Yup its cold and it will cause you problems like condensation of the pipes and water pans. This will lead to droplets of water on sheets and also rust your mechanical parts like cam followers and grippers.

Tried it and it worked. The thermostat's numbers is not what it says. I put a digital thermostat in the water and set it according to that. Thanks for the advice.

If you are referring to the dripping, I assume that the temp had something to do with it. My theory is: The water was close to freezing and acumalated under the pan roller and chrome roller and was to much and splashed over the draining part of the pan.
