VIM products are giving the customers better run lengths!

Steve Hopkins from the UK mentioned a week ago: One of his clients was running 50K with DP-R on a Karat 46 press.

Candido reported about his client Mata Digital in Spain running 75K with DP-R on a DI 52 press.

Our Dutch distributor, having 3 DI 52 clients, all working with VIM DP-R, prefer our product to those of the competition, because of the improved run lengths.

David Sartain wrote in February 2013: 'Our account Voom Graphics in Texas running DOB on KPG5634 called to let us know that they are at 108,553 impressions on one set of plates and still going strong!'

Thats amazing! Even more amazing is that Presstek pricing on the plates is better than VIM's. As far as the run lengths. That has never been an issue with presstek plates in my experience. If anyone needs infomation on pricing for presstek DI plates give me a call or email.

Hi Anthony, Long time no speak! So we are now rivals I see. No change there, ha ha. Last time I spoke to I seem to remember you didn't have a good word to say about Presstek so I am quite taken back by your comments. Rest assured Vim cannot and will not be beaten on price so that is that sorted. Anthony I have sold over 45 DI presses and have a good name worldwide in the industry so I would not sell the VIM if I didn't know they are the best quality and value for money. All users know they print a much more uniformed dot and a lot less blanket toning.
I would like to challenge you on your comment on run lengths?! Who are these people, we have given names, people can call them and check what we say is true. I do hope the same applies to your claim.

Hi Anthony, everybody knows that Presstek's monopol on plates made DI technology dead. Their greed for money stops well working industrie, we all remember well the prices of 1400€ per box. Thanks VIM input we have now the prices close to 600€ per box, and they work fine. So stop to play good uncle form USA. You were forced to reduce the prices only because of VIM.

yes you are 100% correct presstek did reduce there price to stay competitive.
Thats a good thing, now I can sell more DI presses and DI Plates and my customers plate cost is way down its a win win for everyone. So whats the problem?

I'm 100% with you Anthony, only competition ist good for the market. The problem was in the past as Presstek has treated any competitor as a enemy.
As the result you have a poor output on your offered QMDI presses with 37 mikron laser beam, instead to have improved on like eg. Karat 46 press had with 16 mikron. But it's all history and we 'll not change it.

VIM Technology was sold to Presstek, no exist nothing more, onlye existe two company selling roll plate, Presstek and Ultramax, and other is that im owner and creator fo clamp system for use toray plate (you need make a fisrt invertion for buy the kit clamp system) and can use other sheet plate.

diode, you referring to damage diode, or burn a ordinary plate? ... if is the second, this cant burn a ordinary plate becauae is Positive low drill plate, and the dot image is different... also the diode work for burn some material is diferents...

If it is about using other types of laser diodes different from the manufacturer, I think it will not work, if the diode burns and it is necessary to replace, it can not be repaired.

I do not know what it means to decrease the laser life, with what plates ?, the plates need another system, now, my system is tested to have the values equal, this depends on a special RIP computer.

We have tested ultramax plates and they work fine. What you need to do is increase the laser values. Because you calibrate the diodes with the original presstek plates , you need to do a new calibration with the ultramax plates. The saving of these plates are around 30-40%

The question of Moises I think is, if by increasing the values does it affect the diodes life. ¿?

Ultramax is very nice product, but when talk about the sheet plate, dont need make adjustments for laser, but decrease the power in diode is make not burn well the spot laser engraving so, the value is necessary put the necessary for image plate. I agree for ultramax, but the problem is for uv ink, and is not reuse plate(like roll plate), but is nice alternative from presstek

Hi Guys

We have been using Ultramax plates for about 2 years now on 2 QMDI Classics. Results are perfect. Just received 4 boxes this week. Ultramax are great people to deal with and they deliver to our door - FREE DELIVERY VIA DHL.
Savings are huge compared to Presstek. 30-40%.
We found no need to adjust our laser diodes. Plates burn fine with same settings as Presstek plates. We have maintained all settings and inks as before with excellent results on runs of up to 40 000 so far. Hope this input helps you decide on what plates to use. Personally I would go with Ultramax. Speak to Nora in sales. She is outstanding to deal with. They have given our DI's a new lease on life by keeping plates affordable.
