Hi, I am thinking to buy used MGI digital press to print on 100 micron PVC sheet. Can anyone guide me if there are spare parts / ink toners / support available for this machine.

The MGI digital presses are actually Konica Minolta's with a big MGI shell around them. They have been modified to allow them to print on PVC, or to fit in-line with MGI's foiling unit.. Depending on which model you're referring to, they either have the C7000 print engine or the C1070 series engine inside. KM now has partial ownership in MGI and sells/services all of their products, however, they have discontinued the MGI Meteor line. If you're near a KM dealer, you may be able to get a contract or supplied for it depending on the model (most likely not going to support the older C7000 version since it's reached end of life). However, most digital presses these days (from Xerox, Ricoh, Canon, and KM) can print on a media similar to PVC, such as Nekoosa Synaps XM. We have a KM C6085 and C7090, and both can even print the 14mil duplex in a single pass.

Source: I used to sell KM's production print line, and even sold some MGI equipment during my time there.

hello J, Thank you sharing info. I tried PVC sheet 180 micron thick in KM6100 & 6080, it melts inside fusing unit. 300 micron works on, but I use 150-180 on volume side.

Order some of that Nekoosa Synaps I mentioned above. It will work in your digital presses and should serve the same purpose as the PVC.
