Can anyone assist with explaining the difference between the opti control system and a Signa Lynx sheet control system that have been part of the Aster 160 machines. Understand both could do the same thing with the Signa lynx option being the later version of the opti control ... both being related to a sensor that stops the machine when pages are out of order for the 16 page booklets produced?

Thanks in advance for your assistance

Hello! As far as I know, the older Aster 160 are equipped with optical sensors. The principle of scanning, first of all, depends on the physical characteristics of the objects being measured. Some of them can be transparent, others with increased reflective abilities. When the beam reaches an object, phenomena such as reflection, absorption and transmission of light occur. Their parameters and coefficients directly depend on the object, its material, surface, thickness and color. Of course, the limited girth of the sensor. When you train the machine, it stores the information received from each notebook in the book block in those areas where the LED touches the notebooks. The next notebook in the book block is compared with the previous one. And the newer Aster 160 are equipped with signa lynx. This is a full-fledged camera that takes pictures of each notebook, remembers and compares.
