Running a 2 color job. The dampening rollers on the top unit stopped turning then started turning. Seems to happen at random. Probably 90% of the time we run the bottom unit as a one color press. Had been running a 2 color job for 3 days before this started to happen.

auch the brushes inside the water motor may be worn or the motor itself may be shot try to replace carbon brushes
and see if it helps also check your settings 6mm to plate 4.50mm to chrome 4mm metering to pan roller

Auch, make sure that you exclude any other possible reason for that motor to act up. It is a very expensive motor to replace. Swap the motors with another unit. Also, swap the Rolandmatic controllers to verify that it is indeed the motors.

    It fixed itself?

Now I have the same problem on the bottom unit.
    1. Speed adjustment works - high to low, no roller turning
    2. On/Off on operator's side functions (switch functions)
    3. When dampener roller is on / easy to move roller, like when the switch is off
    4. Is there a fuse?

There are fuses actually, but something else would not work either if it was the fuses . Most likely it is the board that controls the motor clutch or, as it has happened, the spring coupling between the clutch and the roller hook up.

auch some of those boards are identical or redundant sometimes you can swic th boards but they must have exact same
serial numbers that may help/. also oxidation builds up on the points on the boards themselves if you gently seat and
unseat them a few times it may help. why not have control come and sort you out he knows rolands?
