Man roland 300

I have a problem with a Man Roland 300 printing press. I ran a print on a dry spot so the issue would be easier to see. The lower part of the sheet prints darker than the upper part. When I run more demanding jobs, such as solid coverage areas or fine halftones, the difference becomes very noticeable. Could you help me determine what might be causing this problem?

water roller setting, probably need a new water form

This is printed without water only dry ink rollers

form rollers could be bouncing off the plate from gap. have you tried 3mm stripe? also try running with form 1 or 4 completely off.

Thank you for the suggestion. Tomorrow I will post a photo showing the form roller stripes on the plate. Could you also explain what you mean by running with form roller 1 or form roller 4 completely off? Do you mean disengaging one of the form rollers from the plate and checking whether the density variation changes?

yes sometimes first or last roller has a harsher bump than others. its an old press and air cylinders might be weak

Thank you for the advice. Tomorrow I will upload a photo of the form roller stripes on the plate. I will also try running the unit with the first form roller disengaged and report back with the results.

Try changing the timing of the ductor roller charge, to be sooner or later, to move closer to gripper or tail.
It might be part of side-side oscillation timing?

you cant do this on a 300.
