My sensor sometimes lights and sometimes does not. Usually I buy a new sensor. I was told that there is an adjustment on the sensor to make the sensor work. Is this true

There is an adjustment inside the sensor, behind the metal sticker. However, before you try that, make sure that the sensor is lined up with the front stops.

I opened up the sensor and turned the little red screw. All the way counterclockwise and the light would not go out, and all the way clockwise the light would go off. So I found a point that seemed to work. The pile went up and I was ready to run. When I started the press, the pile just keep going to the bottom.

You have to adjust it so that it just turns on when a mass of paper covers the metal part of it. If the pile keeps going down no matter what, then the sensor is defective. We carry those in stock.
