I am working on a 4 color man roland press. Can anyone suggest me a general maintenance schedule, maybe daily, weekly or monthly.
A good schedule can mean different things... To give a suggestion on maintenance we have to know first of all, how is your management? Do they leave it up to the operator's discretion to choose when and how the machine is maintained? Also, what is your production schedule? How many hours a week is the press running? Are you short on time, or do you have specific slots you can focus on just maintenance? Is it a web press or a sheetfed? Do you have access to the operations manual that came with it? If so, what are the suggested (although not always practical) lubrication guidlines?
Very basic answer: make sure any spot that needs greas has greas at all times Make sure your oil is good & fresh and test it every 6 months make sure no loose bolts and all sensors are clean make sure your bearers are clean and your cylinders are clean take off any rust and make sure the filters are all clean. SOme can do this in 4 hours once a week , some need more What kind of prees is it ? what year ?
There are several things that can be done by the operator or maintenance personnel. Although maintenance is similar for most machines, there are several items that are correlated to the machine type. What type is your machine? (Rekord, R300, R700, R800?)... We have been providing maintenance for manroland for over 25years and can come up with a simple schedule for you to follow. www.controlgraphicsusa.com
Maintenance on your press I also work on a 4 color Manroland press. We developed our maintenance program based on the manuals (which are usually a little overkill) and then added to the program basing it on experience. Here are a few good maintenance basics to get started for your press. I would start with something weekly based on the operators manuals and work from there. Enjoy.
An interesting and informative link about chemistry. http://printplanet.com/forums/ink-s...ion/28189-chemical-useage-its-effects-workers
Great insight. Its really informative about the subject. It ain't that as it looks like, I really like one of the comment given over there, if you want to be in this industry you have to be little naive on it or else it won't work that easily.
