HI everyone,
I need some serious input on my next big venture Konica 7000 vs Xerox 700. I currently have a leased xerox 252 with 3 mil prints since 2008.. and it is just dying.
My current printing details (average) are as following:
- 10K per month - 90% jobs run on 11x17 to 13x19; Half of them run on cover coated stock upto 270 gsm (gloss, silk)
- 75% of jobs have 80% and more toner coverage
Currently I am outsourcing (printer broker with heidleberg) any job which need extreme color matching or over 2500 prints. I wish to handle some of them inhouse.
I estimate my monthly volume on different stocks will increase to average 17.5K-20K per month. I plan to run most jobs (multiple up) on 11x17 upto 13x19
I have seen print samples from both companies but on demo machines with less than 2K prints. We all know that the first million are good.. then starts the grey hair growth on your head.
My concerns are registration, color consistency especially with Gradient prints & heavier Stock (wish and will print only on 14 pt or 16pt - Tango Digital C2S only)
Any advise on these two machines from the real print world people will be helpful. Had a few xerox 700 referrals (good & bad) from xerox.. most were having different output's of printing.. and not in the volume I am expecting.
And none at the moment for the konica 7000!
