When registration is zeroed out on the console, and plates are hung , first pull the registration is always way off on all 4 units and is getting worse even after resetting plate clamps . Could that possibly be a pre press problem or a press problem?

Il faut parfois contrôler le dispositif de perforation de la plaque si il est en bon état, ensuite la manipulation et la mise en place de la plaque dans le dispositif de perforation soit etre bien faites par l'opérateur
Mesurer la prise de pince sur les plaques venant de la prépresse, s il yA un décalage entre eux , je dirai que le problème est sur le ctp.

We encountered the problem of poor positioning of the plate in the punch. The supporting steel plates had damage from the lateral registration of the plates in the form of a groove up to 0.3 mm deep. Depending on the operator's luck, the plates could have had a diagonal offset in the plate cylinder lock. Grinding the base plates to remove the defect shifted the position of the plates on the cylinder by 0.4 mm, while the diagonal problem was eliminated. Also, the side stop pin was turned to the clean side.
CTP is easy to check, just use a vernier caliper to measure the distance from the edge of the plate to the drive mark.

are you certain that the gripper plate clamp is locking into position after re setting them so that they don't drift?
