Hello.

I encountered a problem with my komori. I sent a POD controller for a backlight replacement since the old one was dim. But after we receive it and connect it back to the machine, It seems to lose a program. Is it possible to restore It somehow or do any of you happen to have it?

Thank you in advance

Hi there,

If you are looking for the POD (Print Operation Desk / Touchscreen) software program for a Komori GS228 or experiencing a boot failure/data loss, here is the short answer:

  1. Proprietary Software: The Komori POD operating system and machine-specific parameters are proprietary. You generally cannot download this program online. It must be installed via a CF card, floppy disk (on older models), or USB drive provided by Komori.
  2. Backup Data is Crucial: If your screen is stuck on the boot logo or showing a software error, you need the original backup parameters specific to your exact machine's serial number. Installing a generic GS228 program without your machine's calibration data will cause communication errors with the PLCs.
  3. Hard Drive / CF Card Failure: The most common cause of POD program issues on older Komori presses is a failing internal hard drive or compact flash (CF) card inside the console. You likely need to clone the drive or replace the CF card and have a technician reload the software.
Best next step: Contact your local Komori service agent with your machine's serial number. They are usually the only ones who can supply the correct, stable version of the POD software and the original machine data.

Well, the price that our local komori dealer said was pretty high. Can it be just a problem with communication ? Or should it load a program even without communication?

Thank you in advance and happy weekend.
