    Hello,

My KBA-142 machine goes into random computer monitoring, we checked the cable without the load and its fine. Do you guys have any input on what should we check next?

    Hello, thanks for the reply.

Here i attach a video of the hub while the machine was running, it was good for a minute then the led started to drop. I then take the cable out one by one to figure out the cause of this. I found out that the arcnet network for PU1 was the cause. But when i measure the resistance of the network's cable, it shows 90 ohm which i assume is normal for terminating resistor.

My question is what is the root cause of all this, and why does the console not just say that the arcnet network of PU1 is the issue instead of the picture i attached earlier. Thanks!

    Hello there,
First of all, it's a piece of great news that you have found and fixed the issue.
Just to add more values for ARCNET-related issues.
ARCNET HUB is a power amplifier for DATA Network and enables operation with more nodes.
    - All nodes/LED/indications should remain permanently ON, if indications are blinking, it means a remote unit connected to ARCnet cable is creating a problem
    ACRNET Card LED Status
    LED ON - Normal Operation
LED OFF - NO Voltage - NO Function
    LED BLinking - Network error

There are advanced instructions in the KBA Commissioning mode/CS31 control system to check the nodes' connectivity and response.
But if you don't know the instructions, you have to inspect each node connected to each cable and make sure all connected nodes (Boards/PLC/Display) are responding. Look at the picture to understand the routing of ARCNET cable.
Always check the status of ABB PLC (KT94) if there is any RED (Error), this PLC needs attention. Because the Arcnet cable is connected to the PLC and each PLC has other devices connected, if any of the connected devices have broken communication, the PLC will show RE (RED LED) Remote Error, and the data transmitted to the main console computer will show an error.

** The ARCNET is based on TOKEN ring topology
