there most probably is .the ir dryer usualy has its own power source andon some presses the powder and dryer are hooked together so both can be turned on at same time without causeing major electrical draw on press .

check the inter lock for the dryer.some systems go on either by impression signal or by optical sensor sometimes by both also there should be a fuse or breaker for each system a thermo sensor can also keep the unit from working do u have an electric lprint on it if so send me a copy i will look at it for you and see if i can trouble shoot it over the phone www.control-tronics.com
