Has anyone encountered problems with inline diecutting, creasing, perfing etc on the SM 52 5 colour or any other machines that are compatible with die cutting? We were told that it wouldn't be a problem die cutting presentation folders (which are a 510x372 sheet size 320 gsm) and that's the reason why we bought the system in the first place. But we are having dramas with rule heights (if you get the cutting rules to the correct height, the creasing rules cut through the sheet) Also the plate provided from rotometrics that is supposed to stick on your foil is well and truly oversize and unstable at best....
    Anyone else had similar problems?

    Hi Folks,

On Heidelberg's website for the sm52, they show a carton being die-cut.

Can someone please explain to me how you would get a cutting plate made? do you need a female plate made for the creasing as well or can you use matrix?

    thanks in advance

When it comes to diecutting, printers are no longer drawing a blank pundits say printers are bringing more of this work in-house. Today's expanded options reflect two larger trends: a saturated commercial-printing market and customer demand for shorter print runs with faster turnaround times.
