Using plyers on the keys tend to damage thumb knob and forcing dry ink through threads can damage fountain tray. Remove nuts above keys to remove blade exposing dirty screws. Using a wire brush and blade to clean threads to remove screws without damaging threads in ink fountain. Clean and grease and reassemble. Spikeboy is correct, tighten from middle out, loosen from outside keys to middle.
