Inks for Komori

I would like to know of a good supplier of process inks that work well on a Komori S29. I am currently using Sun chemical, intense series. I am not happy with the trap of these inks. Any help would be great.

We use the printing company (Rycoline) here in toronto Canada We also use sun chemical but only A few colors white oxi for foil paper and A couple of pms colors

I don't know much about that ink as I have never used it. I do know that choosing the right ink can make a big difference in the results you will get on press. Prices seem to be pretty comparable from brand to brand so maybe call a few companies and get some samples to try.

I could recommend a brand or two but I don't know what's available in your area.

I had used Gans ink. It stays open longer on the press and prints well.

Yes it has good pigment and vehicle, I have been happy with that ink too. There are other inks that work as well but I didn't know what was available in your home town. What series were you or are you using now?

Toyo is expensive in europe but a fabulous ink

They used that ink for years where I work now and will probably go back to using it after I am gone, despite all the issues they have had with it. We use a different ink now and have noticed many improvements on press and off. Well, I have anyway.

I recommend T and K Toka. They have a BESTSTACK series, which is hands down the best ink I've ever ran. It stays open, is very hard to break down, traps great. The only thing I can say about them is that they are stout. We have to run densities a little lower. They are a bit pricey, but well worth it.

I have used Toyo , Van Son , and Monarch inks in the last year. We have also tried other brands. Ultimately we chose Monarch for cost and drying. I would ask your local ink companies to bring sample kits. If they want your business they will bring you a set for free. Just keep in mind matching previous printed jobs could be an issue after changing ink.
