Inkjet WebPresses

Does anyone know which companies are leading in the inkjet webpress world? I just heard some stuff about the Drupa pre-announcement of Kodak's Prosper 6000XL and was wondering if there's any info out there about which platforms (HP, KODAK, OCE, whoever else) are doing best and have the most installations.

Have looked at those, plus the Screen system.. prices vary with speed and bells and whistles.
Really depends... seems like everyone is going with the company that has the best support close to them - as they are still a work in progress.

  • Joe,
Thanks! Do you know if there's any Printing Industry publication that lists the number of installs of the various brands?

kodak and OCE' are awsome, all depends on your local dealer though, and how good is their reputation when it comes to down time and service, as for running cost, you are going to have to get them to provide with the list of consumeables and prices.

Its wierd theres nothing to read about the new Landa nanography on this forum, i think that we are gonna see alot to that project in a few year, 13.000 sheets/hour, digital ink-jet, its simply amazing.

Reviews from Drupa show a product that is not yet ready for the prime time. Landa even said he has hurdles to overcome. Seems like 2 years before you see it on the street so why talk about something that may or may not ever be viable?

Hi Guys I'm wandering over from the dark side of printing forum (litho) to say that my company has signed a letter of intent for a new landa nanographic digital sheetfed press. It really is a sexy looking bit of kit ! From what small detail i have gathered (his whole impreessive drupa presentation is on you tube) the big players of litho world have sat up and taken notice of this process. Heidelberg,Komori, etc have all been allowed to ebrace his technology and make their own version. Clever marketing angle to have the big players sell the future machinery to their loyal customers and mr Landa cleans up as he holds the rights to the ink profits which is the key to process. Maybe the future is digital afterall. . . . . did i just say that out loud??
