Has anyone tried either the Westland LotoTec roller compounds or the Bottcher Vita Color uv ink rollers? We have been using the Bottcher Pro Aqualis water pan rollers out of Germany with excellent results. They last a very long time and are very resistant to swelling and deformities from the cleaners and fountain solutions. However we are having significant difficulty with the standard EPDM rollers from Bottcher in the ink train. They are swelling severely especially on the ends we keep having to have our machine shop regrind them to flatten them back out. We are using the harsh UV inks for printing on plastics and metals etc.

Westland lototech are by far the superior pan roller, the botcher spiral is ok but if I had to choose lototech would be my choice

  • Also heidelberg saphira rollers are good too im not sure where they are made in Europe but in the states it Acorn and they last very long

    1. if these kind of rollers are ´swelling´ you have to change washing solvent. This is a very important point. As well as WESTLAND told us, that common solvent are not sufficient, nor âs good for the LotoTec rollers ... think about this.
    2. the LotoTec rollers are very good if you want to run non-alcohol-printing, if you want to eleminate ´Effect of color splitting back to dampening unit´.
