Ink and Water Balance Problems

    I run a M1000 with brush rollers. The ends can get gummy from emulsified ink and etch especially if you run roll widths less than the full size. Once they get gummy on the ends they don't kick up water efficiently. You bring up water to clean the ends of the plate & the middle carries too much causing wash-out in the middle and emulsification in middle. In a pinch I go over the brush roller with a wire brush to clean on the run (not recommended tho) but that is a short lived cure. We keep extra rollers made up with fresh brushes and swap them out in minutes. This allows you to lower the water level overall substantially, thus eliminating the problem
