    Hey,

I have another problem with this machine and was hoping that you folks could help me out.

I'm trying to print in grayscale on 11x17 and am getting horizontal banding (against the feed direction) on solid gray areas. It looks like the fuser is slipping or that the drum is skipping and supposedly the tech replaced all of those parts.

It's mostly on cover weight with it looking worse the heavier and toothier the paper but you can still see it a little on 70# cougar.

Is there a motor or position sensor or something else I can point him at?

    Thanks

    Update to my own post

    Hey,

According to Ikon (and the samples the technician brought from another machine) this is just something that this machine does . The cpp 550 and 650 series cannot print a smooth gray on most paper but especially cover weight.

I asked him to push the issue to Konica and if I hear back I'll update here.

    :p
