We are comparing getting two ikon 560s with getting one Xerox 7000. Our main concerns are reliability, and color consistency. Also will need to run heavy 12x18 stock. Any advice would be greatly apperciated.

Can you tell us a little more about the types of jobs you'll be printing with your new printers?

Do you have existing backup machines you can fallback on?

What kind of schedule pressures do you have?

The ikon 560 is a solid-built machine. But it's flat satin sheen only. Having two like machines is great for troubleshooting or for failover with no delay/adjustment if one stops... quite stress-reducing.

The Xerox 7000AP provides a gloss option for customers who want a nice glossy looking finish which makes a nice difference. Also xerox will offer you click rates about half of the ikon 560 which offsets the much higher monthly lease and gives you an incentive to continue to increase volume on that machine.
