Humidity level for Copy Center

We have a room setup for our copy machines. Our service tec for one of the machines said that we have to keep the humidity level around 15-20%. I said he was out of his mind. We always keep it in the 40-60% range....but usually around 50%.

Is he right or bonkers?

 

We were having problems with one of our printing presses the quality would randomly drop and then be ok again later in the evening it turned out that the press needs to be kept at around 15 -20 % humidity and i believe around 20 deg. C. Once we sorted these problems out the machine seemed to run a lot more consistently.
