Hi All,

I have recently changed the belt drive on my Z2100 ( original HP belt ) but i am getting an error 86:01. Looks like this is more of a issue related to the Scan Axis than a paper jam.

The carriage moves freely apart from around the centre toward the drive motor ( Right hand side ) where it seems to go tight ( still moves but tighter than normal ) and if you move it slowly there is a very slight scraping sound. I have taken it apart again and there is nothing obvious that is causing this. I have checked teh guide bar and it seems smooth, slightly lubricated and the encoder ribbon doesn't seem damaged.

If you lift the carriage ( has slight movement up and down ) and move it along the whole track it is comply free and the tightness disappears. I have run the Scan Axis routine via the service menu and even that give me the error 86:01, i'm assume its because the carriage wont move freely

Any idea's, I'm starting to wonder if its time to move on and replace the printer.
