In an HP LaserJet 2600n a good printer for everyday printing, color letterheads, photos and graphics, etc.?

You can pickup a 2600n very cheaply (an HP refurbished 2600n with tones goes for $200.)

The 2600n feeds envelopes well, is easy to setup, and has a nice gloss finish quality to the toner, especially on semigloss sand gloss laser stocks.

On the negative side, for photographs the print quality is not very consistent (too prone to streaks for my liking). The toner is also very expensive in OEM cartridges for this printer. And at 8ppm it's slow by today's standards.

But, for the price, for desktop use it's not bad.

  • It's a decent printer, I had one before I upgraded recently. I never had any trouble getting cartridges, compared to my new one, are rather inexpensive.
