I need good variable data software for printing raffle tickets.

We need something that could handle numbering of up to 300,000

does anyone know of anything?

Preferably nothing to do with Corel Draw and something that works with Adobe CS5 or with the DocuColour

Use Indesign. I set up every Variable data job using Indesign CS5.
You need an Excel list with all the numbers you need to print, then use CS5's Data Merge tab to streem the data to the art work.
You can also strep and repeat the desing from there as well, OR use mulitple lists to a layout that's already step'ed , and this will help you keep everything colated.

Indesign should do these jobs quite well. I have even used it to merge addresses for bulk mail.
These are the steps for a collated variable job:

1: Finalize your design and step-and-repeat the job in indesign (or use any imposing software you might have, and then place that PDF in indesign)
2: Open Excel and Create a list for as many "up" as you have in the Stepped file. (IE 6-up on a sheet requires 6 lists)
3: Make sure each list has a name (A1,A2, whatever) So the variable data starts from row 2 onward.
4: devide the data you have by the amount of columns. (keeping 6-up as an example, say you have 100 numbers that need printing, each list will contain 17 numbers. list 1 = 1-17 list 2: 18 - 35 and so on..
5: save this list as: CVS Comma delimited value . this will be on the Save As menu in Excel.
6: use the indesign Data merge tab to place each list which each stepped file..
use The export to PDF function from the Data merge tab and you will have a printable variable data file
