Hello. I am new to the printing industry and a newbie on graphic designing. Is it possible to convert a blueprint (building/land plans) and make a clear black and white copy for archiving? If i photocopy from the blueprint directly the output is very dark. How can I graphically improve this?

My graphic designer uses Corel Draw.

Scan the blueprint in line art mode (AKA 1-bit or B&W). In this mode you should have a single contrast adjustment that will hopefully allow you to get the blue as black and the paper as white. You can then invert the values in PhotoShop. Some scanners will also have the invert feature built in.

If the scanner doesn't do a good job in line art mode (if it clips parts of the blueprint that shouldn't be clipped), scan in grayscale and adjust the tone curve and contrast and invert in photoshop or corel photopaint to get a good result.
