We have a problem in our pressroom in determining if a wash up blade is for replacement. Do we have to count how many wash ups were done or do we have to count the days?

Just look for wear on the blade, usually goes on the ends first.

what you should be counting is how many press crews tend to set the pressure between blade and the oscillator that the blade rides on too tight.

I will take a look on that. This is probably the reason why our machines with manual wash ups have the worst appearance of wash up blades because it is contacted with the rollers manually. Also, another factor is that the blades are made of rubber.
