Hi there sorry i have looked through my 600 mechanical note book and they dont say the weight of the units but the R700 is 9ton per unit so I would say if you look at 10 ton you should be ok as the R900 is 14 ton per unit hope this helps you

Thank you for the response. Man-Roland tells me that each unit on a 600 series weighs about 6 tons. Overall weight on the machine is 35 tons. Thanks for your help.

Including the upper and lower units, Machine 2 and 3 are about 14740 lbs. Machine 1 is a little lighter at about 13,000 lbs

We are roland service and parts specialists. We are glad we can help.

Not much of a specialist as the conversion is only off by 40lbs the problem is this weight is without lower inker as lower inker never transported together with the press unit.

My friend, as far as not transporting the upper and lower units mounted together,
we assume that good erectors and riggers know that.
By the way, we BOTH omitted to mention that the lower inkers are about 2575 lbs.
Would that would make you not much of a specialist either?

By the way, after looking into this topic a little more, it would seem that “sartois” acquired a Rekord of series 628 or higher, not a R600. Roland did not manufacture R600’s until much later than 1984.
In that case, the weight distribution for each machine and units are a bit lighter than what was mentioned.

Ok Specialist. There is a 40 pound difference between the Rekord and the R600. Not knowing if his year is off or his press type I always pass the higher weight on just to be save.
The problem is you giving somebody a weight for a unit without the lower inker but telling him it is included if he now deduct this weight of a lower inker from your weight dimension he runs the risk to miss judge the load and may over load truck or container which can be dangers and will cost maybe a lot of money.
We don’t want to get anybody in trouble, do we?

Nobody is interested in getting anybody in trouble and frankly resent that you would even insinuate that! By your own admission, you did not know what type of press these people had and did not mention the weight of lower inker either. We can discuss semantics if you wish but I don’t think that would be very helpful. We all err sometimes for lack of complete information and so did you; however, I did not doubt, or make fun, or question your knowledge. So, you can continue on your pattern as much as you want, but we, on the other hand, prefer to continue doing what we do best, that is, offering the best possible service to manroland customers. End of chapter.
