So much more to this question. Need model year. What icon is coming up on feeder display (ZID)? What are you doing to get press to run? Is skew of stream the main issue you are battling?

    Hi sir:
SM/CD 102 with Preset Feeder: has fifteen tilting front lays underneath the feed table. These front lays can individually and gradually be thrown on and thrown off. The front lays align the front edge of the print sheets true to register. The following settings are possible:

Throwing on and throwing off: A front lay that has been thrown on is in contact with the front edge of the print sheet during the alignment procedure.
Setting forward and backward: This function is used for adjusting the gripper bite.

    Blessing

There should be a skew control on the feeder head, it might be maxed out?

Boggles the mind how one can efficiently produce, much less troubleshoot, a precision piece of machinery without operator manuals. Highly suggest your company invest the dollars needed to bring in the manuals you need. That being said, have you looked at the condition of your forwarding wheels (those that lower to the forwarding roller)? Have you checked the feed tape spools and shafts? Lift the feedboard and follow the tapes through every turn and check free wheeling of bearings and shafts. Pay close attention to the op side and gear side spindles (19 mm shafts running on bearings each side) which are under the forwarding roller. Don't just spin them, try moving them up and down. There should be no play. This is a common issue. Also, verify that when making an adjustment on skew mechanism, that the linear cam operator side of feeder head is actually moving. Would be interesting to know, after all this typing, whether other stocks run OK, but your curled board stock is the man problem. Good Luck

if other suggestions fail I would suggest a good look at your forwarding sucker assemblies. These wear out over time and require replacement or at the very least re bushing. The clearances of the sucker piston in the bore get sloppy, and cause the pistons to get hung up. You begin by having to increase vacuum but it eventually gets to the point where no amount of vacuum will overcome the stiction that the worn out housing causes.

Yes it was the forwarding suckers the guy that ran before me adjusted it and did not tighten the screw so it was loose the suck was moving at times thats why it runs and then gives skew sheet

The problem I describe is more than just the sucker housing being "loose" on the forwarding sucker shaft. Im talking about the piston bore on each sucker wearing to the point of having the sucker piston flopping around. This flopping around creates a condition called "stiction". Stiction will effect the smooth up and down operation of the sucker, resulting in the feed stream becoming crooked every time the sucker hangs up. There are aftermarket companies that even sell a rebuild kit so you can install a brass insert into the existing sucker housing that will bring the bore back into round!!!
