So I have only been able to find solutions for the clamp/knife being stuck down, but I am stumped on this one.

Ideal 4850-95 EP

took off electric cover, K1 and K3 both go down when buttons are hit, but nothing happens.
when I manually hit K2, there is a terrible whirring sound, like the motor is trying to move the clamp but cant.

can bring knife down, but clamp doesn't come down at all.

PLEASE HELP!

Hi sir:
As you must understand the K2, is the contactor for to release the brake for the motor Knife.

You must look for this:

1) K2 dirty, or loose wire, or damaged contact, of coil overheating ( replace it complete contactor)

2) if K2, is o.k, you must see if the brake of motor knife, is o.k, see if some parte is worn, or defective, dirty, or replace completely.

3) Time to take out, completely maintenance motor, exchange ball bearing, Lube, clean, and Varnish the winding, or replace the motor., of course you must LOOK for loose wirings, corrosion, defective wires......+ connectors...

Good luck.

The clamp might be wedged, Try a prybar and piece of wood to protect the table and see if the clamp will go up. If its sticking at the bottom there can be multiple problems but it might just be material causing it to stick.
