Help choosing printer for 5,000 copies/month double-sided and Envelope Printing

We are looking for a printer capable of:

• 12 x 18 (or we'll settle for 11 x 17)
• High quality color
• Duplex
• At least 80 lb cover stock (or higher preferred)
• Glossy stock
• Envelope printing

Currently our production is about 5,000 double-sided 8.5 x 11 sheets per month and our envelope production is about 2,000 envelopes per month with only black text for return and delivery address plus indicia (very little ink coverage and all black).

We are looking to buy used and also get into a service contract.

Currently we are outsourcing both envelopes and color jobs. The color jobs are costing us about $.18 per sheet and the envelope printing cost is about $.08 per piece (not including the envelope itself)

Could a Phaser or similar do the job. We looked at a Xante Ilumina and the features are perfect for us but the cost is sky high compared to what we are looking for.

Please help. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi. We have a few Oki CX-3641 printers for sale. The OKI is who supplies print engines to Xante.
Reading your jobs descriptions it is sounds like you have a very little coverage on your
projects and if you do, cost of ink should be so scary especially considering that
black ink is most inexpensive. Industry's benchmark is to provide you with tonecartridge yeild considering a 5% coverage. If you really have something close to it, you will great amount of impressions out of your inks. Besides everything else the oki/xante is one out of fef printers that will run envelopes with out excessive issues and paperjams and will not rock you wallet. Machine we have is in really nice condition, came out of Attorney General office and han never seen production environment - by pass tray count is about 50 sheets. Price below $2000.
