Could someone please give me some advice on what might be my problem with an inking unit.
One unit is printing like in Photo 1 and the the other like on Photo 2.
I have tried more ink, less ink ,more damping ,less damping etc but can make no difference.
    Would it be roller pressure?
Have check roller to plate on all rollers and they look fine.
I am colour washing a complete white sheet.
    Any help ,pointers appreciated
    Thanks 20230823_115554.jpg 20230823_115457.jpg

Looks more like an impression issue. Check packing/underblankets etc. Are the cylinders bearers clean?

Use your packing gauge to ensure you are evenly packed under blankets

Have replaced the sheet to make sure.
Can you not just turn on more pressure from the side adjuster?

The problem came into it gradually as we went through a 20000 sheet run.Started about halfway through.I have improved it by changing the amount of ink to the amount of damping but still not perfect. Also checked packing sheet etc and replaced just to be sure.
    Thanks for your reply

hello dear sir, before the problem remembers, did you change the blanket and under blanket? do the rollers touch the plate well? are the print pressure motors working normally? do the pressure jacks play their roles properly? does the ink taker manage to properly transmit the ink to the rollers? please check this item!

You say that one unit is printing "different" than the other, but based on what I see in the second picture it looks to me like you're printing a screen tint of multiple colors. If you are in fact printing a screen tint, then I would suggest that you're dealing with a trapping issue.

It's a general ink transmission problem.
check the printing pressure between the impression cylinder and the blanket cylinder, the covering of the blanket cylinder
