Two weeks ago, we acquired a Heidelberg SM 52-4 printing machine from 2002. It was functioning flawlessly at the seller's place, but it was only later that we realized that the computer of the printing machine was kept on the printing desk, presumably for cooling purposes - we were initially unaware of this.
However, when we tried to put the machine into operation at our place, we encountered problems. Sometimes the CP 2000 program loads when starting, but most of the time the screen darkens completely even before this. We let the machine rest over the weekend, then tried to turn it on again on Monday. We managed to start it and it worked without any issues for two hours, then the screen darkened again. From then on, the machine only turns on for short periods, the program doesn't fully load, and the image disappears.
One observation we made is that it seems the longer the machine spends in rest, the longer the program loads when starting. This may suggest that the issue could be related to temperature or overload problems. We attempted to cool the inside of the computer with a larger fan, but we feel that this had no effect on the problem.
We are desperate and would like to ask for help. We greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions to help us resolve this issue.
