I have a single color Heidelberg GTO with Kompac III
dampner, problem is when I use a clean up sheet to
clean the dampner it wrecks the blanket, leaving the
"pattern" of the clean sheet showing up in my prints.
Thought it might be a blanket issue so I switched to a
    different brand...same problem.
Is there a better way to clean the dampners or any
    other suggestions this might be?

    Thanks

Best way to clean Kompac is squirt some VWM wash and water in the nip. Turn press on and let run idle a few moments. STOP press and use snot sucker and or cotton pads to absorb wash. Repeat a few times. Let machine run when done to air dry rollers a bit. Remember inward nip on these and no fingers, rags or...... near them while running.

Just as FFR428 says. The Kompac unit will clean independently of the ink train and the blanket without impression being on, so if you do your clean per his instructions there shouldn't be any way to damage your blanket. Its a pretty slick system for quick and easy cleans.

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to throw on a new
blanket and change the clean up method,
I didn't have the machine on in impression while cleaning
I just dropped the water rollers on the clean sheet with solvent
in the nip, the clean sheets were too thick thus damaging the blanket.
    appreciate the feed back.

Good luck. Like FFR described, you shouldn't need to use a clean sheet. Squirt wash in the nip, run it a few seconds, suck out the dirty wash, repeat a few times and be done. We have a vacuum sucker for our Kompac units which is nice, but as stated before, one of those bulb snot suckers will work too.
